Custom Formulation Solutions
Plastisols for Specialized Requirements
Development and Adaptation According to Customer Specifications
ATF Ammendorfer Plastisole develops formulations that are precisely tailored to the requirements of the respective application. Whether it’s a modification of existing systems or a completely new development, each material is created with a view to real process conditions and technical target values.
Parameters such as hardness, viscosity, color, or chemical resistance are precisely defined and tested under practical conditions. All results are documented and approved to ensure safe integration into existing production processes.
This results in solutions that combine technical performance and regulatory security, function reliably and reproducibly, and are developed in close coordination with our partners.
From Trial to Series Production
Every development at ATF Ammendorfer Plastisole follows a clearly defined process, ranging from laboratory samples and practical tests to series release. In close exchange with our customers’ specialist departments, we create formulations that combine technical precision, economic efficiency, and stable processing properties.
Each development step is carefully documented, validated, and tested under real production conditions. This results in materials that can be reliably integrated into industrial processes, deliver consistently constant results in the long term, and strengthen confidence in safe processes.
Flexibility in Every Production Phase
ATF Ammendorfer Plastisole manufactures with high flexibility, from pilot batches and small series to industrial quantities. Short decision-making paths and coordinated processes make it possible to implement adjustments quickly and precisely.
Each batch is fully documented and produced in a traceable manner to ensure technical consistency and regulatory security. Development, laboratory, and production work closely together to ensure that each solution can be processed stably and maintains its defined properties throughout the entire process.
Predictable Results through Controlled Development
Each formulation at ATF Ammendorfer Plastisole is developed and validated according to defined testing procedures. Parameters such as flow behavior, elasticity, and adhesion are measured and documented under practical conditions.
The data obtained flows directly into the optimization of the systems and ensures that each adaptation remains technically comprehensible and auditable. This methodical approach creates transparency in the development process, ensures reproducible results, and strengthens process stability in production in the long term.
Frequently Asked Questions About Individual Formulations
How Does the Development of a Custom Formulation Work?
The development of a customer-specific formulation takes place in a multi-stage, practice-oriented process. First, all process-relevant parameters such as processing temperature, dwell time, viscosity window, curing conditions, and substrate properties are analyzed. Based on this data, we work with the customer to define target values and functional expectations, such as elasticity, chemical resistance, or surface structure. A laboratory sample is then created and tested under real conditions, for example in the dipping, casting, or coating process. After successful practical tests and inspections (mechanical, thermal, chemical), the release for series production takes place, including complete documentation of all test and development data.
How Long Does Development Take until Release?
The development time depends on the complexity of the requirements and the number of test cycles. It is usually between two and six weeks. This period includes all phases, from formulation and laboratory testing to sample production, result evaluation, documentation, and series release. For urgent projects, accelerated processes can be implemented without compromising quality and traceability.
Can Existing Systems Continue to Run Unchanged?
In most cases, yes! Our compounds are developed in such a way that they can be integrated process-neutrally into existing production environments. This means that no adjustment of the system parameters or machine technology is required. The material properties, such as flow behavior, gel point, or curing temperature, etc., are precisely matched to the existing processes. This means that the new formulation can be used directly without impairing ongoing operations or incurring conversion costs.
How are Test Requirements Documented?
All tests, measured values, approvals, and process parameters are documented in an audit-proof manner and stored in a central system. This traceability covers both the laboratory phase and series production. Every step, i.e. from the raw material batch to the release protocol, is fully traceable. This means that the documentation not only meets internal quality standards, but also industry-specific requirements according to ISO and GMP.
Are Small Quantities Possible?
Yes! For test series, pilot plants, or special applications, we produce small batches from 5 kg, of course under the same quality and testing standards as series production. This allows new formulations to be evaluated in your own process environment before larger quantities are ordered. This flexibility reduces development risks and makes it possible to optimally coordinate material and process at an early stage.
